Hello! My name is Akira Kamita, 38 year old Japanese, an editor for publishing. This time, from 21 Jul. to 14 Aug., I'll drive to across the U.S.A. with my family, my wife and my children. I'll take the following course. So, would you give a good advice for me? 21 Jul. arrive at L.A. 23 start L.A. Grand Canyon - Denver - Kansas City - St.Louis - Indeanapolis - Toled - Niagara falls - 10 Aug. arrive at N.W. 13 leave N.W. to Japan by air Bye the way, I'll travel with my lap-top computer, and l'd like to access the Compu-serve during this travel. Sounds like an interesting trip you have planned. The only advice I have is that in my opinion, the route from Denver east would be more scenic if you headed northeast to South Dakota and took Interstate 90 east to Chicago. South Dakota around the Rapid City area has many attractions including Mount Rushmore and the Bad Lands and Black Hills. Further east on I-90 you could see the upper Mississippi around LaCrosse,Wisconsin, then Wisconsin Dells and later on Milwaukee and Chicago. These cities are more interesting than Indianapolis. From Chicago eastward you can go directly to Toledo, Ohio and Niagra Falls. But a more interesting route would be to go to Niagra Falls on the north side of the Great Lakes, passing through Toronto. Be sure to see it at sunrise or sunset, when the changing shadows create "moods". Do you have hotel reservations at the Canyon? There are a lot of nice people there, but you should be prepared for the fact that hundreds of miles of the states you'll be driving through are flat agricultural land or a combination of suburban sprawl and old industrial areas -- they are hardly tourist areas. At first, I thougt the Continent crossing may be a big adventure for my children, 9 year old girl and 6 year old boy. In the end, I thougt the Continent crossing is most important thing in this time. Of course it was related to the term of this trip. I lined only shorter in the map. Ha ha ha! (^_^) However I think easy in this time. Because, by any situation, the trip of driving is able to change a plan at everytime. I'd like to worry more, yet it is a pleasure of the travel, isn't it? And the acquirement of something from travel is wonderful pleasure, too. Recentry, I went to some countrys, England and Scotland in winter, Paris, Beijing, 23 jun. 19 days after that massacre at 4 Jun., etc.. Of course I traveled only one and not business. I think I'd like to write about these at another time. I can understand poor English. But I love a travel. I acquired a lot of something, abuot nature, about people, about mind, and these are the surprising exiperience for me. So I love a travel. Then I thougt, I should be to take this way, continued to the world, with my children. We'll deperture from Tokyo to L.A. today, Japanese date is 21. Hi!

Sounds like an interesting trip you have planned.

The only advice I have is that in my opinion, the route from Denver east would be more scenic if you headed northeast to South Dakota and took Interstate 90 east to Chicago.
