緑字斎一家、アメリカ大陸横断記　8月1日
8月1日　このあたりはBlack Hillsというらしく、木々の葉や幹が黒っぽい。　Rapid Cityに行くまでの間には4人の大統領の顔を岩山に彫り込んだMt. Rushmore Nat'l. Mem.があるのだが、どうもこの手は苦手なこともあって、ここには寄らずにRapid Cityからいよいよシカゴまでの一本道、I-90に入る。　Rapid Cityの近くにWallという町があるが、ここのWall Drugというところで昼食。　じつは、ここはCompu-Serveのメンバーから教えて貰ったところ。　初めはなにやら分からなかったのだが、道沿いの看板やら、その他の推測で、ただのドラッグストアーではないらしいと分かったので、寄った次第。　なんと、西部に関するスーベニアショップが一堂に会した場所なのだった。　サウス・ダコタ州の中ほどの、ミズーリ川の畔にあるCahmberlainで、距離の関係から宿をとる。　子供たちはさっそくプールに入り、夜は近くの安そうなおばさんひとりでやっているようなほんとの田舎のレストランでチキンとリブを食するが、これが実にアタリだった。チキンの皮がカリカリに揚がっていて、香ばしく、チェーン店のチキンとは比較にならないうまさだ。 #: 43783 S1/United States 01-Aug-89 01:10:55 Sb: #43727-ACROSS USA Fm: Dennis Larson 75555,705 To: AKIRA KAMITA 71721,1645 Akira....Your messages are interesting.
